NJECC’s 34th Annual Technology Conference ~ January 14, 2020 - January 16, 2020

Our keynote speaker is Mr. Anthony Stirpe. During his career, Anthony Stirpe has been acknowledged as an innovator and pioneer in the area of English Language Arts. With more than 15 years of experience as a public-school teacher, he has been recognized by local, state, national and international organizations for his ongoing endeavors to revolutionize the traditional ELA experience. Stirpe received the 2016 Content and Curriculum Award from the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), the 2017 New York State English Program of Excellence by the New York State English Council, and in 2017 he was named an Apple Distinguished Educator. This past year Stirpe was awarded the 2019 TELL Award for his work on
fostering social change through technology. We are looking forward to hearing from Mr. Stirpe. Please join us.

Tuesday, January 14, 2020, Presentations and Workshops (Day 1)
Join us for more than 100 presentations featuring professionals teaching in K-12 schools and universities. This year we will feature strands for Library Media Specialists, Special Education Teachers, and English/Language Arts Teachers. We will offer hands-on sessions and BYOD sessions. All presentations and workshops are listed below. You are free to choose from any of the sessions when you register for Tuesday, January 14, 2020. The detailed schedule will be available mid-December. The fee for Tuesday is $110 for NJECC members and $125 for non-members. There will be a late fee of $15.00 after January 9, 2020. Cancellations after January 9th will incur a fee of $50.00. Register

Wednesday, January 15, 2020, Design Thinking Symposium (Day 2)
Design Thinking is a human-centered process for creative problem-solving. By adding empathy to problem-solving we can help students focus on creating for people over content. On day two of the NJECC Conference, get hands-on with Design Thinking and walk away with some practical ideas to implement it in your classroom. Registration is limited. The fee for Wednesday is $110 for NJECC members and $125 for non-members. There will be a late fee of $15.00 after January 9, 2020. Cancellations after January 9th will incur a fee of $50.00. Register

Thursday, January 16, 2020, Workshop Day (Day 3) - Join us for Hands-On Workshops on a variety of Educational Technology Topics. We will hold AM and PM workshops. The fee for the post-conference hands-on workshops is $110.00 (members) and $125 (non-members) per workshop. There will be a late fee of $15.00 after January 9, 2020. Cancellations after January 9th will incur a fee of $50.00. Register here.

Exhibition Area: Come visit our exhibition area on the main floor of University Hall to view displays and demonstrations from vendors featuring the latest in educational technology products and services.


IGNITE SESSION: Please visit our vendors in the exhibition area in the 1st-floor hallway of University Hall. Prize “dots” will
be given out by the vendors. You can fill up your prize card with the dots for a chance to win some great prizes at this last session of the day. We will also have five fast-paced presentations for you to enjoy!

In this session we will discuss blended learning methods; the Flipped Classroom, Station Rotation Model, Whole-Class Rotation Model, and Playlist/Flex Model. Participants will learn strategies to incorporate technology with each model and give students an active learning role.
